Hey! I’m Nicholas Korody. I work across various cultural fields as a writer, editor, researcher, and visual practitioner. I’m currently the Lecturer in Architecture History and Theory at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. I also lead a studio, supervise theses, and mentor design students in the Social Design department at Design Academy Eindhoven.

I work with Victoria Camblin as Magazine.Capital, a creative agency and editorial consultancy. I collaborate with Joanna Joseph as Adjustments Agency, a critical architecture practice. And sometimes I publish my design work under the alias Interiors Agency.

Back in the day, I was the founding Editor-in-Chief of Ed, an architecture journal published by Archinect. I was the Managing Editor of the first issue of Capsule, a Milan-based design annual. I’ve done a couple projects for 032c, and have written for a range of publications including GQ Middle East, Kaleidoscope, Pin-Up, Metropolis, Real Review, Harvard Design Magazine, and e-flux architecture. I’ve also edited several books, such as Non-Extractive Architecture (Sternberg Press, 2021) and Babyn Yar: Past, Present, Future (Spector Books, 2022). A collection of essays I wrote about the political economy of home decorating, titled The Uses of Decorating, was translated into Spanish and published in 2022; you can check that out here.

My visual practice has been exhibited in institutions such as M+ in Hong Kong, the Triennale Milano, the V-A-C Zattere, the Swiss Institute in New York, the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the LUMA Westbau in Zurich, and the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris. Some of my recent video essays can be viewed on dis.art, and you can watch some recent lectures I’ve given here, here, here, and here. Finally, I’ve also done work for commercial clients such as Balenciaga, Zora, and Mercedes-Benz.

If you’d like to check out my full CV and portfolio, want to work together, or simply want to say ‘hey,’ then send me an email or DM me.
